How To Bathe Your Ferret

First thing, make sure you don't bathe your ferret too much. Their bodies will produce extra oils which will make them smell very bad.
When you run the bath make sure the water isn't too hot or cold. Nice and warm is good. Make sure the water isn't deep. They should be able to touch the bottom and shouldn't be swimming. Also let the get used to the water but slowly putting them in the bath. Let them soak in the water for a little then apply shampoo and make sure it's for ferrets(baby shampoo wforks too).
Make a good lather all over their back, legs, tail, belly, and neck. Don't wash their face with shampoo. When rinsing slowly put them under water. Make sure all the shampoo is rinsed out. Also make sure you don't dunk their heads underwater.
Take a towel and dry all the dripping water so they are damp. Then you can place the towel in the bath to they can towel dry themselves (trust me they can!). After I like to spray them with deodorizer and give them a treat. The treats I give them are N-Bone Ferret Chew Sticks, Ferret Tone, and Ferret Lax.
You only should bathe your ferret once a month TOPS.

When Cleaning Your Ferret's Cage

Cleaning a ferrets cage can be a little bit tricky, so here are some tips on how to do it.

First you will want to make sure all you ferrets are out of the cage so they don't interfere with the cleaning. Now what you will need is: A plastic bag, rag or paper towel, pooper scooper, whatever you use for litter (DO NOT USE CLAY CAT LITTER)and a cleaner. Make sure to use 100% all natural cleaner or vinegar and water. First, change the bedding(that includes hammocks, sleeping sacks, etc.) and wipe down the cage.
Now for the litter boxes, scoop all the poo out of the litter box. It's ok to leave some of the used litter in there as long as you took out all the poo. Place the poo in the plastic bag. Put a good amount of fresh litter in there. Make sure then you wipe down the sides of the litter box.
When you get to the food and water, wash the bowl and water bottle. Then fill the bowl with fresh food and fresh purified water. Also make sure after you put clean toys and sleepers in. After I'm done i like to spray the cage with deodorizer.
For 1 ferret you should clean the cage every other day (or everyday if you want). But every day you need to change the litter box and food. If you have 2 or more ferrets do this everyday for sure.
